Tashi Lama
A Buddhist monk based at Tengboche Monastery, Tashi has lived and studied there for 13 years and was born in the nearby village of Phortse. The monks of Tengboche actively promote eco-tourism and Tashi himself has had a life-long dream to help the many families in this area who are repeatedly devastated by losing one of their members in a climbing incident.

He is the main force for starting the phortse foundation.

Phunuru Sherpa
Phunuru Sherpa is from Phortse and has 2 daughters.  He has climbed Everest 12 times (7 summits), Cho Oyu 15 times (13 summits), Nirika once, Lobuche East 7 times, Island Peak 6 times, Mera Peak twice, Ama Dablam twice (1 summit) and Pisang Peak once. In addition Phunuru has been one of the Lead Instructors for Khumbu Climbing Center (KCC) over the last 9 years. Here in the USA Phunuru is a NOLS graduate and has climbed Mt. McKinley and Mt. Rainier as a volunteer for the US National Park Service. In December 2013, he completed 2 week helicopter long line rescue training by Alpine Rescue Foundation of Zermatt, Switzerland and Simrik Air Helicopter.

Palden Namgyal Sherpa
Palden Namgyal Sherpa also hails from phortse village and has scaled everest 9 times. The details are enumerated below

He has worked as chairman in laligurans buffer zone for more than 10 years. He was the main person for bringing electricity and water to the village of phortse and was one of the initiator for saving Sherpa culture. Tenzing Gyalzen Sherpa
Tenzing Gyalzen Sherpa is also from phortse . He ha one daughter. He has scaled Everest summit 3 times.   He has completed 24 Hours wilderness First Aid from Sentinel outdoor institute.  He has scaled Ama Dablang 4 times with Alpenglow Expeditions. Further he has climbed Island peak 3 times. He has been involved in electrification of Phortse village from last 8 years as electrician. He is also involved in operation and maintenance of phortse drinking water system as technician. He was chairman of phortse gumba. He has cleared KCC training from Khumbu Climbing Center. He has been further trained in fire fighting and green environment.  He was involved in laligurans buffer zone as secretary for 3 years. Danaru Sherpa

Danaru Sherpa is also from phortse . He has one daughter. He has scaled Everest summit 16  times, Amadablam 3 times . Chooyu 12 times , Manasalu 1 time, He is lead instructor of KCC. Panaru Sherpa

Danaru Sherpa is also from phortse . He has two daughters & 1 son.
